Checking, Savings and CD Application Checklist
Please note the following:
- For deposit accounts opened at an HSBC Bank branch located in California, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Washington, or for accounts opened by telephone or Internet, the accounts are held by HSBC Bank USA, N.A. For deposit accounts opened at any other HSBC Bank branch located in any other state, the accounts are held by HSBC National Bank USA.
Welcome to the online application. The Checking, Savings, and CD application should take approximately 10 - 15 minutes to complete. All applicants must be U.S. residents and be at least 18 years of age. You can view our rates before you apply. Be sure to review the Individual or Joint Application requirements below before beginning the application. Thank you!
For Individual Applications
Please have the following information on hand when you apply:
- Social Security Number
- Current Driver's License information
- Information about your current loans or credit accounts (for authentication purposes)
- Your current bank account and routing number (to fund the new account online)
For Joint Applications
Both the Primary applicant and Co-Applicant will complete the application separately. Please have the following information on hand when you apply:
- Primary and Co-Applicant Social Security Numbers and Dates of Birth
- Primary and Co-Applicant's bank account and routing number (to fund the new account)
- Primary and Co-Applicant's current Driver's License information
- Information about current loans or credit accounts for each applicant
- Here are the steps to complete the Joint Application:
- The Primary Applicant will complete the application in full
- Once complete, the Co-Applicant information must also be completed in full
- Signature cards are required for both the Primary and Co-Applicant
- Either applicant may choose to fund the new account

What to Expect
Once you have submitted your application, we will notify you if the application can be approved online or if other information is needed to complete the application. FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT

What this means for you: If you open a personal account, we will ask for your name, address, taxpayer identification number, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. Additionally, we will take certain steps to verify your identity, such as asking for your driver's license or other identifying documents or checking other sources. Similar identification requirements apply to non-personal accounts such as corporations and partnerships. Be assured that we recognize the importance of protecting your privacy and safeguarding the confidentiality of the information you provide to us.
