What to Expect:

The Home Equity application should take approximately 15 - 20 minutes to complete. Once you have submitted your application, you'll receive an e-mail notification confirming our receipt. One of our home equity specialists will contact you to finalize any documents you may need to submit to verify your application information.

You can apply for a home equity line of credit, loan or increase to your current line using this application.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT PROCEDURES
FOR OPENING A NEW ACCOUNT

To help the government fight the funding of terrorism and money laundering activities, Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies each person or entity that opens an account.

What this means for you: If you open a personal account, we will ask for your name, address, taxpayer identification number, date of birth, and other information that will allow us to identify you. Additionally, we will take certain steps to verify your identity, such as asking for your driver's license or other identifying documents or checking other sources. Similar identification requirements apply to non-personal accounts such as corporations and partnerships. Be assured that we recognize the importance of protecting your privacy and safeguarding the confidentiality of the information you provide to us.

What Information You'll Need:

To apply for an HSBC Home Equity product, please have the following information at hand:

  • The product type for which you wish to apply
  • The repayment terms desired (length of the loan or principal payment option)
  • Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number
  • Date of birth
  • Mother's maiden name
  • Current address, including length at residence
  • Current e-mail address
  • Monthly mortgage/rent payment amount
  • Annual income and employment information
  • Other Income sources for yourself and co-applicant (if applicable)
  • Assets and property information, including purchase date, price, value, mortgage holder, balance, monthly payment, taxes, insurance and all names on the deed

For consolidation loans, provide the details of all the accounts you wish to include in the loan: account names, account numbers and the balances to be paid off. For line increases, please provide your current HSBC home equity line account number.

What You Should Know:

  • During the credit process, you may be asked to provide copies of the following, if applicable:
    1. Copies of recent paystubs and W2's
    2. Copies of two years of Federal Tax returns, if self-employed
    3. Copy of your escrow analysis statement if your first mortgage is with a lender other than HSBC
    4. Copies of most recent property taxes if not escrowed
    5. Copy of your most recent deed
  • If your property is a Cooperative (Co-op), you will be asked to furnish copies of your:
    1. Complete signed proprietary lease
    2. Stock certificates
    3. Most recent Co-op corporation's financial statement
    4. Monthly maintenance statement
