Wire Transfers

Online Wire Transfers allow you to send funds from your HSBC accounts to another person, business or financial institution! The new service gives you:

  • A convenient and seamless approach to wire your money
  • More banking freedom! No phone calls to make, no lines, no waiting
  • Easy access through Personal Internet Banking

Note: Wire Transfers are a form of funds transfer and Wire Transfers create a Payment Order. Service fees may apply to all funds transfers, including Wire Transfers, and there are limitations on Wire Transfers from certain types of accounts. See your Terms and Charges and the Disclosure section below for specific information.



When to use the online Wire Transfer Request Form

When making one-time electronic transfers from your eligible HSBC account to another person, business or financial institution in the U.S. and internationally. In order to send a Wire Transfer you must know the recipient's banking information such as the bank name, routing/swift number and account number.

 

Ineligible online Wire Transfer Request Account Types

Online Savings, Online Payment, Premier Investor Savings, Premier Investor Promo and Passbook Savings Accounts are not eligible for outgoing Wire Transfers.

 

How to get started using online Wire Transfer Requests

All Personal Internet Banking customers with an eligible HSBC checking or savings account are eligible to use the online Wire Transfer Request service.

  • Simply log-in to Personal Internet Banking just as you do today.  
  • Select "Transfers” and then "Wire Transfers."
  • Complete the online Wire Transfer Request Form.

For requests submitted prior to 3:00 PM Eastern Time on a Business Day:

  • Within 60 minutes, an HSBC Representative will call you on the phone number on file to authenticate your request.
  • If you are unavailable, HSBC will attempt to contact you for 2 more business days. On the 3rd Business day HSBC will cancel your request and it will not be processed.

For requests submitted after 3:00 PM Eastern Time on a non-Business Day:

  • Your request will be reviewed on the next Business Day, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM Eastern Time. During this time an HSBC Representative will call you on the phone number on file to authenticate your request.
  • If you are unavailable, HSBC will attempt to contact you for 2 more business days. On the 3rd Business day HSBC will cancel your request and it will not be processed.

If you're NOT yet registered for Personal Internet Banking:

  • Click Sign Up to register for the service today! Personal Internet Banking is a free service from HSBC.
  • You can receive immediate access to Internet Banking (and your accounts!) if you register using your HSBC ATM, Debit, or HSBC credit card for authentication.
  • If you register using another type of HSBC Bank USA, N.A. account for authentication, you'll receive a confirmation in the mail first before you can begin to use the service.

Disclosure

The request form will be your instruction to the Bank to transfer funds from your account and constitutes a Payment Order as defined by Section 4A-103 of the Uniform Commercial Code. Unlike payments initiated through the Bank's Internet Bill Pay service, these Payment Orders are not afforded the protections of HSBC's $0 Liability Guarantee and are not subject to the error resolution procedures provided in the Bank's electronic banking services disclosure or under Regulation E. By submitting this form, you are rejecting the Level One Security Procedures offered by the Bank and choosing the Level Two Security Procedures described in the FUNDS TRANSFER section of the Bank's Rules for Deposit Accounts (accessible by clicking on the link highlighted below), which you acknowledge are commercially reasonable pursuant to Section 4A-202(c) of the Uniform Commercial Code.

United States persons (including U.S. citizens and residents) are subject to U.S. taxation on their worldwide income and may be subject to tax and other filing obligations with respect to their U.S. and non-U.S. accounts - including, for example, Form TD F 90-22.1 (Report of Foreign Bank and Financial Accounts ("FBAR")).
