HSBC Credit Center Introduces New Electronic Money Transfer Service

28 July 2008

Service allows customers to remit money to more than 21,000 pick-up points and banking locations in Latin America, including banking branches of HSBC Mexico.

Mettawa, Ill., 28 July 2008 -- HSBC Credit Center announces that Nexxo has completed the installation of a new electronic money transfer service at 19 HSBC Credit Center branch offices in California and Texas. The new service provided by Nexxo Financial Corp., the leader in self-service money remittance technology, allows customers to remit money to more than 21,000 pick-up points and banking locations in Latin America, including banking branches of HSBC Mexico.

"We are very pleased to make Nexxo's convenient, safe and fast money transfer service available in our HSBC Credit Center branches," said John Lucas, senior vice president for HSBC Emerging Markets. "By putting Nexxo's kiosks in our branches, this new service also allows us to join up HSBC services in the United States with those offered by HSBC Mexico."

By using patent-pending kiosk technology, customers in the United States are able to remit money directly to the La Efectiva card of an HSBC Mexico customer. La Efectiva is an ATM/Visa card that works like a debit card and can be used to withdraw money with no fees at 1,400 HSBC branches in Mexico and 4,500 ATM locations. The La Efectiva card is also accepted at any retail location in Mexico that accepts VISA. Beneficiaries will have immediate access to money whenever they need it.

"Nexxo is thrilled to be expanding our already successful relationship with HSBC Mexico by offering our innovative technology and automated money remittance service directly to HSBC Credit Center customers," said Dave Alvarez, CEO for Nexxo Financial Corp. "Placing our turn-key remittance solution in these branches allow us to continue to broaden distribution of our unique offerings to the Hispanic community."

The new electronic money transfer service will be offered by Nexxo at very competitive rates and Nexxo will provide knowledgeable staff onsite for a limited time to guide HSBC customers and ensure a smooth transaction. Customers will receive their first remittance of up to $1,000 free plus a free five minute call to the beneficiary of the money.
