HSBC brand now greets more than 150 million North American travelers
Mettawa, IL (March 31, 2009) - HSBC, one of the world's largest financial services companies, today announced Miami as the latest addition to its global airport branding strategy. As part of the five year agreement, the HSBC brand now features prominently across the interior and exterior of 102 jet bridges at Miami International Airport, one of the 30 busiest airports in the world, with over 34 million travelers passing through it each year.
The interior of the jet bridges displays HSBC's 'Points of Value' campaign - a global advertising campaign which illustrates how different values make the world a richer place. They also highlight the key benefits of HSBC's global personal banking service HSBC Premier, which include: international recognition, worldwide support, a Premier credit card, home-financing options, full-service wealth management(1) and a single relationship manager. Last year, Premier customer numbers grew by 22 percent to top 2.6 million worldwide. Of these, some 260,000 customers reside in the U.S., up from 196,000 in 2007.

HSBC first established a presence in Florida in 2000. Since that time it has expanded rapidly and currently operates a network of 20 retail branches, a dedicated commercial banking facility and office of the private bank.
Jet bridge advertising is a concept pioneered by HSBC and launched at London's Heathrow Airport in 2001. Since that time it has expanded to 41 airports in 17 countries around the world. HSBC branding can now be seen at airports in such diverse locations as: Sydney, Beijing, Shanghai, New York, London, Athens and Tokyo.
In the United States and Canada, HSBC already has a strong presence at John F. Kennedy International Airport and LaGuardia International Airport in New York, Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey, Toronto Pearson International Airport and most recently, Vancouver International Airport. With the addition of Miami International Airport, HSBC's airport branding campaign will reach more than 150 million North American fliers annually.
