Guillermo Gomez Joins HSBC Commercial Banking Team in Florida
9 March 2011
New York, NY - HSBC Bank USA, N.A. (HSBC) today announced the appointment of Guillermo ('Willy') Gomez as a Senior Vice President and Commercial Executive within the bank’s Commercial Banking unit. Based in Miami and reporting to Richard Laviña, Executive Vice President and Regional Commercial Executive for the Southeast United States, Gomez will work with mid-size companies that have international operations, are trading internationally, or are interested in expanding overseas.
“Adding Willy to our team is part of HSBC's Commercial Banking growth strategy in the Southeast region,” said Richard Laviña, Executive Vice President and Regional Commercial Executive. “We have found that more local companies are focused on growing their international revenues through exports and HSBC is well positioned to assist them. Hence, it is essential to have experienced individuals such as Willy and our Miami team on the ground. They have in-depth knowledge of what companies need to do when doing business internationally and can bring the global resources of HSBC to meet their multi-country needs."
Gomez brings more than 25 years of international and domestic banking experience to HSBC. Prior to his current role, he held various commercial banking positions with BNY Mellon Bank and Northern Trust Bank. Gomez has extensive knowledge in providing financial solutions and lending to middle-market companies. In addition to his professional responsibilities, Gomez is the Vice Chair of the Miami Museum of Science Board of Directors and serves as Chairman of the Board for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Florida.
HSBC’s experienced team of commercial bankers will provide U.S. companies based in the south-east with access to HSBC’s commercial banking presence in over 60 markets worldwide.
