HSBC names Diane D'Erasmo Executive Vice President - International, U.S. Commercial Banking

New York, NY - HSBC Bank USA, N.A. (HSBC) today announced the appointment of Diane D'Erasmo to the new position of Executive Vice President-International for its Commercial Banking business in the United States. D'Erasmo will oversee HSBC's international commercial strategy aimed at helping multi-national companies and clients wanting to invest in the US and access new trade and investment opportunities.
"With the U.S. as the world's largest and most connected economy, building HSBC's inbound commercial banking business is a vital component to our continued growth in the U.S." said Steve Bottomley, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking, North America for HSBC. "I am delighted to have such an accomplished and experienced leader like Diane to lead this key HSBC strategic initiative. Diane's leadership in this new role will benefit both our clients and our commercial banking business."
D'Erasmo is based in New York City. Prior to the appointment, D'Erasmo had served as Executive Vice President, Commercial Banking at HSBC Bank USA.
D'Erasmo has extensive commercial banking experience counseling international companies based in the U.S. and has helped foster HSBC's commercial banking growth in the Northeast and New York region over the last several years. She also has specialty knowledge in the apparel and retail industries. She was recently named one of "The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking" by American Banker Magazine for the fifth consecutive year.
D'Erasmo began her banking career with HSBC-acquired Republic National Bank in 1980. Previously, she was a CPA with Deloitte Touche LLP. She serves as board member for Fashion Institute of Technology Foundation, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New York City and Junior Achievement of New York. She is a member of the Board of Advisors of the Tobin College of Business. D'Erasmo earned a bachelor's degree in Accounting from St. John's University.
