If you write only a few checks a month, or keep a small checking balance, HSBC's Basic Banking could be right for you. There's no minimum balance requirement and the monthly maintenance fee is just $3 per month. We'll even process up to 8 checks/withdrawal slips each month at no charge. After that, it's just $.35 per check or withdrawal slip.

Overdraft protection

Avoid overdrafts from your checking account with optional HSBC Select Credit^® for Overdraft Protection. Available funds from your Select Credit line are automatically transferred to your checking account in the event that your account becomes overdrawn. You can also access funds easily from your Select Credit line with Select Credit checks.
