Maximize your security while using HSBC Personal Internet Banking
At HSBC we want you to confidently bank online knowing that your information and transactions are safe and secure. As an additional safeguard, HSBC Personal Internet Banking clients now have access to Trusteer Rapport, a free security software download that protects your bank account from fraudulent transactions while banking online. This software will secure your communications with our Personal Internet Banking website and block any malicious attempts to access or steal personal information or money from your account.
Trusteer Rapport adds valuable security when you log on to HSBC Personal Internet Banking. Not only does it ensure that you are logged on to the authentic HSBC website, it also locks down the link between you and the bank so that fraudsters can't listen in.

- Protects confidential information against identity theft and fraud
- Defends against threats that anti-virus solutions cannot detect or remove

Trusteer Rapport does not replace your Personal Internet Banking security details or other protection such as anti-virus software. It works with them to add extra security to detect financial malware they can't protect you from. It only takes a few minutes to install the software and there is no need to restart your computer.
How to know you're protected
Once installed, a green Trusteer Rapport icon will be displayed near (or in) your browser's address bar when you are viewing a website that is protected by Trusteer Rapport.

There is no software required to access HSBC's Internet Banking service. All you need is a computer and internet connection. The following operating systems and web browser versions are recommended for use with HSBC Internet Banking:
- Our service is accessible to Apple® OS X® and Microsoft® Windows® operating system users.
- Browsers using SSL v3 are not supported.
- A 1024 x 800 screen resolution is optimal, but you should be able to view content at other screen sizes.
