Open HSBC Account

You can submit an online application for many of our accounts. From us.hsbc.com, click on ‘Banking’ and choose any of the following:

  • Credit Cards
  • Checking
  • Savings
  • CDs
  • Debit Cards
  • Line of Credit

From there, click the ‘Apply Now’ button.

Note: Give yourself about 15-20 minutes to complete the application.

What do I need to apply online?

To apply online you must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a Social Security Number
  • Have a U.S. residential address

If you don't have a Social Security Number or have a military address, please call 800.975.4722

What information do I need to open an account?

When you're applying for a deposit account or credit card you'll need the following information:

  • Social Security Number
  • Email Address
  • U.S. driver's license, U.S. non-driver ID card, U.S. learner permit, passport, or Green Card
  • Date of Birth
  • Employment information
  • Bank account and routing number for electronic funds transfer (deposit only)
  • Telephone Number
  • U.S. residential address
  • Form W-9 Tax Certification requirements (deposit only)

Please note: The deposit application is an individual application only. Once your account is open, you can add a joint account holder to a checking or savings account.
