How do I send money using Global Money Transfers?
You can use the HSBC Mobile Banking app to make a Global Money Transfer by selecting 'Move Money' and then 'Send money internationally'. Find out more in the video on our Global Money Transfers page.
What does it mean to send money in a foreign currency?
Sending in a foreign currency means sending money in a currency other than USD. To qualify for this offer, your Global Money Transfer must be sent in a non‑USD currency.
If your payee is set up to receive USD, please add a new payee with the updated non‑USD receiving currency. When adding the payee, make sure the ‘Payee receives’ currency is not USD.
Can I earn more than one $50 Cash Bonus?
No. There’s a limit of one (1) $50 Cash Bonus per client during the Offer Period, including across individual and joint accounts. However, the $50 Cash Bonus may be earned in addition to other HSBC promotional offers or campaign rewards, unless those offers state otherwise.
If I have a joint account, can we both qualify for the $50 Cash Bonus?
Yes, both owners of a joint account may qualify to receive a $50 Cash Bonus, if each account owner makes an eligible transfer and completes the other qualifying activities.
For example, each account owner must be opted-in to receive marketing emails at the time their Global Money Transfer is made and must remain opted-in until they receive their $50 Cash Bonus.
When does the Global Money Transfer need to be completed?
It must be completed during the Offer Period. A Global Money Transfer is 'completed' only when it’s successfully processed by HSBC and not cancelled, reversed, rejected, returned, or otherwise not completed.
Is the $5,000 requirement based on the foreign-currency amount, or the USD equivalent after conversion?
The transfer must be completed in $5,000 USD equivalent. 'USD equivalent' means the value of the Global Money Transfer converted to U.S. dollars using HSBC’s exchange rate applied at the time the transfer is processed, as determined by HSBC’s records.
When will the bonus be paid?
The $50 Cash Bonus will be deposited into your Premier checking account within 8 weeks from the end of the month in which you complete the qualifying Global Money Transfer and meet all other qualifying activities.
For example, if you complete your transaction and opt in to receive marketing emails on July 15, you will receive your $50 Cash Bonus by the end of September.
What do I do if I haven’t received my bonus?
It could take up to 8 weeks from the end of the month in which you complete your qualifying Global Money Transfer for your bonus to be paid. If the Global Money Transfer is returned do I still qualify for the cash bonus?
Unfortunately not. Transfers that are cancelled, reversed, rejected, returned, or not completed during the Offer Period will not qualify.
However, if you re-send the transfer and it is successfully completed by August 31, and you meet all other offer requirements, you may still qualify.
