The easiest way to access the app

You can now log on to the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app[@appinfo] using facial or fingerprint recognition. No separate security device and one less passcode to remember. Set up biometrics on your Apple or Android device in just a few easy steps.

Apple

Face ID

To use Face ID you'll need:

A compatible phone or tablet and operating system
The latest version of the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app
An active Digital Security Device

How to enable Face ID

Make sure you've set up Face ID in your phone or tablet device settings
Open the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app using your Digital Security Device PIN.
Follow the prompt to enable Face ID. Or, once you've logged on, go to 'Profile', select 'Security', select 'Manage Security', choose your device and tap on the Face ID toggle.
Now you can use Face ID to log on to the app.

Touch ID

To use Touch ID you'll need:

A compatible phone or tablet and operating system
The latest version of the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app
An active Digital Security Device

How to enable Touch ID

Make sure you've set up Touch ID in your phone or tablet device settings
Open the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app using your Digital Security Device PIN.
Follow the prompt to enable Touch ID. Or, once you've logged on, go to 'Profile', select 'Security', select 'Manage Security', choose your device and tap on the Touch ID toggle.
Now you can use Touch ID to log on to the app.

Android

Android Fingerprint

To use Android Fingerprint you'll need:

A compatible phone or tablet and operating system
The latest version of the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app
An active Digital Security Device

How to enable Android Fingerprint

Make sure you've set up Fingerprint ID in your phone or tablet device settings
Open the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app using your Digital Security Device PIN.
Follow the prompt to enable Fingerprint ID. Or, once you've logged on, go to 'Profile', select 'Security', select 'Manage Security', choose your device and tap on the Fingerprint ID toggle.
Now you can use Fingerprint ID to log on to the app.

When you enable biometric log on, any fingerprint or face stored on your device, now or in the future, can be used to log on to the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app. You should only enable biometric log on if you're the only person who has registered their fingerprints or face to your device.

Frequently asked questions

Log on to the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app with your username and password.
After entering your username and password you will be guided through the process of creating your PIN. Once the PIN has been created, your Digital Security Device is set up.
Going forward, you can use the PIN to log on, or enable biometrics.

Biometric authentication allows you to log on to the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking app using your face or fingerprint, instead of your Digital Security Device passcode.

Touch ID on Apple, and Fingerprint ID on Android^TM, are fingerprint recognition features available on certain mobile devices. To use Touch ID or Fingerprint ID, your device and operating system must support Touch ID or Android Fingerprint and meet the minimum system requirements of the HSBC app.

Face ID is a facial recognition feature available on certain Apple devices, it allows you to log on to the HSBC app using just your face. To use Face ID, your device and operating system must support Face ID and meet the minimum system requirements of the HSBC app.

Go to the ‘Profile’ tab, select ‘Security’, then toggle the ‘Touch/Face ID’ or ‘Fingerprint’ ID button on or off. For more details please refer to the Terms and Conditions.

After 3 failed attempts to recognize your fingerprint or face, you will need to use your Digital Security Device passcode instead.
