I’m being prompted to download a new HSBC Mobile Banking App1. Is this a real HSBC app?
Yes. We have introduced a new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App. 
 

Why can't I just update the existing app? Why do I need to download a separate app?
The new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App was re-designed and built from the ground up. It is faster and allows for new features to be added more frequently. The new app is specifically made to address our U.S. customers' banking needs. 
 

Can I keep my old HSBC Mobile Banking App? 
Yes. If you access HSBC accounts from other countries, you will need to continue logging on through the existing HSBC Mobile Banking App until you are prompted otherwise.  If you do not have international accounts, please upgrade to the new app.
 

Do I have to upgrade to the new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App?

You can still use the old version for a short time, but you won't be able to benefit from the new features and refreshed design of the new app. Eventually, U.S. customers will no longer be able to use the old app. It's recommended to transfer your security settings to the new app now, because once the old app is no longer available, you will be redirected to the new app without your settings automatically transferring.
 

I don't use Online Banking today. How do I take advantage of this new app?
If you're new to Online Banking, you can register on the new HSBC US Mobile Banking App. This will give you access to both Online Banking through the browser/desktop and the mobile app. 
 

How do I download the new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App? 
Setting up the HSBC US Mobile Banking App takes just a few minutes. Simply search for "HSBC US" in the App StoreSM or Google PlayTM, download and open the app, and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your security information. If you're an existing Online Banking customer, you can access the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App using the same log on details. 
 

How do I differentiate between the old app and the new app after I download it? 
Once you've downloaded the two apps, the old HSBC Mobile Banking App is labeled "HSBC Mobile Banking App" and the new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App is labeled "HSBC U.S.".
 

What are the minimum device requirements needed to use the new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App? 
iOS 10 and later and Android 5.0 and later.

What will be transferred as part of my security settings?
Your Digital Security Device passcode, Touch ID and Face ID (for supported iOS devices) information, and your username if you have selected to have it stored on your device.  
 

How do I ensure I have logged off of the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App?

Select 'Profile' and then 'Log off'.
 

What other countries have the new app?
As of June 2019, Canada, United Kingdom, France, Hong Kong, Malaysia, and Singapore all have the new app. More countries will get the new app over time.
 

How can I access HSBC accounts from other countries?
Global View2 is available in the new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App. This allows you to view all your Global View linked accounts in one view. If your global accounts are linked to your U.S. accounts, you'll be able to see them in the new mobile app. 
 

Can I make a Global Transfer in the new HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App?
No, Global Transfers is not currently available in the new app, but will be available shortly. You can continue to make Global Transfers using Personal Internet Banking on the browser/desktop. 
 

Do I need to register to use the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App?
No, as long as you are an Online Banking customer, you can log on to the new app the same way you do today. 
 

Can I change my Online Banking password in the HSBC U.S. Mobile Banking App?
No, you cannot change your Online Banking password in the app. For your protection, you can only change personal security details through Personal Internet Banking. However, you can change your Digital Security Device passcode by selecting 'Forgot Digital Security Device passcode?' on the log on screen of the mobile banking app. 
 

Someone I know was prompted to download the new app – why wasn't I?
The new app is being rolled out to customers over time. You'll soon be prompted to download the new or you can search for 'HSBC U.S.' on the App StoreSM or Google PlayTM with your compatible smart phone or tablet and upgrade today.
